- Young people who view their school environments as unsafe or non-supportive

Then your school or community is in need of a Youth Coach
Profile of Youth Coach
- Between 21 and 30 years old
- In possession of a tertiary qualification and/or some work or community experience
- Carefully selected by a panel of specialists to ensure that the person can provide the required input in respect to a variety of areas ( statistics show that an estimate of 19% of sessions focus on physical health, 50% on emotional health and 31% on spiritual growth )
- Pre-approved by the specific school or campus before placement
Main Project
AMP‘s main project is the placement of Youth Coaches on a full time basis in a youth milieu, like a school, campus or town.
These youth coaches assist the individual youth members by:
- acting as a role model
- building relationship with learners
- individual sessions and group projects
- assessing learner’s individual needs
- addressing the needs of learners in all development areas
- development of learner’s physical, emotional and spititual potential
- make the necessary referrals to qualified specialists
These Youth Coaches assist the schools or youth community by:
- identifying youth related challenges like teen pregnancies and substance abuse
- develop a framework to handle specific challenges
- ensuring that the time of educational and pshychological specialists are used in the most optimal manner by screening problems and applying an efficient referrral system
- planning and implementing learner supported projects, like youth weeks, campaigns, camps and expo’s in accordance with the specific needs of milieu
- building a community based youth support infrastructure
The goal of all AMP interventions is to transform both the individual and youth community.

Training
AMP ensures that all coaches are trained on an ongoing basis in the following aspects:
- coaching
- communication
- ethics
- crisis intervention
- referrals to specialists
- programme development
- project management (planning and launch of community projects etc.)
- networking
The Youth Coaches are trained to make the relevant referrals to their community support networks and work in close cooperation with the various role players within their local communitites like local churches, social workers, counselors, psychologists and health workers.
Coaches are also regularly assessed through a formal and informal assessment and stakeholder feedback process.

In addition to the Youth Coaches in the school. AMP also employs staff in administrative, marketing and managerial positions to support the activities of the Youth Coaches.
